EC Woodard Woodard chooses to use muted tones, inks and gilding in her work, which is heavily inspired by 19th Century illustration. Usually working on aged or antique paper, she hopes to evoke a sense of the past. Her work often contrasts anthropomorphic characters with inanimate household objects: "I like to add a sense of humour and narrative to my compositions by mixing oddly dressed animals and teaming them up with mundane objects. I enjoy the element of juxtaposition that my drawings encompass". |
