OPENING 5th AUGUST 2010

Eleanor Tomkins, the sculptress responsible for the shop's two headed babies and vaginas in jars will be creating an underwater world in the gallery window in August.

Eleanor Tomkins grew up on a small farm adjoining a large wood in Derbyshire, where she spent happy summer days playing with her two dogs in the fields.  As an only child, most of her childhood friends were imaginary and she would bring them to life in the evenings with clay and Fimo.

Eleanor has since gained diplomas in Theatre Crafts, Special Effects Make Up and Model Making and her friends have grown up with her.  Regulars to the Last Tuesday Society Shop will be familiar with her two-headed babies and vaginas in jars.

The Urban Bathysphere is her first exhibition.
